oo5 [Video/Action for Saffron Pokémon Center]

[Hi, Johto. Enjoy the sound of a heart monitor breaking your otherwise quiet night, along with a rather bright blue glow before the camera on this end can adjust. That is what happens when a gear gets turned on from relative darkness and is soon faced into light, so what can you do? Not much besides wait for it to clear and reveal a room in a Pokémon Center somewhere, with a tank of water in the center and a chair nearby.

There's also a tiny Horsea floating in the tank with what can only be an oxygen mask attached to its snout and leads attached to its body. That must be the source of the sound, but the source of the feed isn't so easily traced back right away. It takes a moment, but a sound that can only be a Dragonair humming soon breaks the monitor's steady beeping, and the feed shifts a bit to reveal that it is instead a Dragonair, coiled in the corner of the room and in control of the gear with his tail. The Dragonair looks looks up, shifting the camera back towards the tank as his trainer enters with a nurse right behind him, taking a seat while the nurse does her checking, then looks to the boy who...looks about ready to fall over.]

"Mr. Hitsugaya, are you sure you'd like to stay? There's nothing we can do but wait--"

Thank you, but I'm sure.

[The nurse sighs at his stubborness, but doesn't bring up the issue again as she notes down the changes on the chart in her hand, looking to the clock on the wall then back to Hitsugaya.]

"I suppose there are worse places to be spending your birthday. Call for us if anything changes."

[With that, the nurse leaves him staring at the clock, and after a moment, he sighs and looks back to the tank. Yeeeep. Guess who's spending his birthday in the Pokemon Center and just doesn't seem to care. This guy, that's for sure. He only sits, watching the Horsea for long moment and saying nothing while Shiryuu squeezes the gear and shuts it off. They're in for a long night.]

[Not looking convinced.] A good chance doesn't equal a guarantee of survival, Inoue. There's nothing we can do but wait.

[nod. He'd certainly be more difficult if he knew, that's for sure. This is also a thing.] I'm not sure. I haven't been able to get into contact with her, either, but I know better than to assume it's because she's finally working.

[...Yes, he is slightly worried.]

But... it's called a good chance for a reason, right? The odds are in your favor, Toushiro-kun! [ Nodnodnod ]

Ah- um, well, I've actually... been travelling with Rangiku-san ever since a day or so after I arrived in Johto...! And I saw her recently- we're both kind of doing our own thing right now, b-but I think she's okay-! [ Worried? Hm, she can kind of sense it, yeah. ]

[ inb4 Misaki gives him a friendship speech

She sighs inaudibly. ] How long have you been here?

[ COLOR RANGIKU SURPRISED. She'll just text him right back with all of the excitement ever! Like, by this I mean, less than a second or two passes before a response. ] On your birthday too, Taichou?! That's such a special occasion! Can I see heeeeer~? Does this mean I still need to get you a present?! Or does this already count?![ She is sort of lazy...but no, she really already has a gift!! In fact, it'll be ready when he turns on the camera if he wishes to switch to video! ]

Ooh, it's your birthday - ?! Happy birthday! How old are you?

[Hopefully she is sitting down, because the feed flares to life to show the Horsea in the tank; Hitsu's obviously the one controlling the feed, but his face isn't in view. Probably for the best.]

[A pause; he actually appears to be thinking on this for a moment, before he shrugs.] That depends on which world you're asking.

[inb4 he linefaces at her for it.

He actually has to pause and think about that, glancing up at the clock while doing so.]

Around thirty hours or so. Since he hatched yesterday.

I suppose. [Still not convinced....but then again, he's stubborn. Best she doesn't try to convince him further. At least he's not arguing about it!

And if she was with Orihime, that would explain the lack of actual network use from her. One worry off his back...mostly.]

Provided she hasn't gone and gotten herself lost in the woods again.

She looks downward, a little disappointed, before fixing her gaze on the camera again. It can't be helped. ]

We'll do something after you leave the Center.

[Eh, he's used to frustrated people...mostly.

Confused look is get. Why does she seem disappointed that he's staying? He dun get it.]

That may take another few days or more, Ayuzawa. I wouldn't plan for anything now.

[ She wonders if she got through to him, but thankfully, she won't touch upon it any longer. It's definitely not something that she'd want to talk about too much, so it might be the same for him too, right? ]

E-Eh? Lost?

[ There is a giant light blue, and dark blue striped sweater behind her with a whoooole bunch of wrapped gifts. No guesses on who they're for!

She'll continue to look into the tan cooing and awwing all the while. ]

Taichou! He's the cutest thing ever!

[ Rangiku goes on to incessantly praise the newborn before the furor of excitement dies down. Her voice grows soft into a fairly worried one, now that she's finally observed the condition. ]

Is he going to be okay?

[ TRUTH IS, Misaki's kind of traumatized from the train incident. Getting back to Goldenrod was hard enough to handle, so she really. Really. Doesn't want to take the ride back to Saffron if she doesn't have to. So it's good that he doesn't get it because she doesn't want to look weak in front of him. Again.

...Then again, for stuff like this, she's willing to endure the anxiety, especially since it's for his birthday. ]

I have to make several trips to deliver some things to some other people I know, so if we plan now, I'll be sure to plan out everything properly so there's time.

Hmm... how about both of them, then?

[Now he sighs. Both, huh? Fine. He did ask.] Here, supposedly thirteen. On my homeworld, somewhere between eighty and ninety. I stopped counting a long time ago.

[Just ignoring the praise and not even noticing the pile of gifts behind her as he waits this out. She can go on and on and on and---oh. She stopped. Good...though he does sigh and shrug faintly at her question.]

They don't know for sure. If he survives tonight and tomorrow, his chances are good, but...it's hard to tell at this point.

[Nod.] When I arrived here, she had already spent two weeks in a forest. It took her another two to get out of it, if I recall correctly.

[And she's not that lazy when sake and hot water aren't involved.

[Her being traumatized is understandable; the only reason he lagged behind is because he didn't want to get on the damn thing again and, hey, egg troubles are more than enough of a reason to just. stay. put. Weakness? Perhaps, but he's never really cared.

That and if he knew she had a plan like that in mind, he'd stop her dead in the water.]

That would depend on what you intend to do in those plans. You know everything takes varying amounts of time.

[ Too bad Misaki doesn't know, because if she knew that he felt that way, well, even more of a reason for her to suck it up and come and fetch him herself. And good that he doesn't care, because she does a little too much. ]

Well, I have presents I need to hand out, and I think some of my friends are in different cities. I could just ask my Pidgeotto to deliver them for me, but... it would be better if I gave it to them in person. On top of that, Popura's travelling with me, and I have to make sure that she'll be okay with boarding the train again.

But even if it has to wait, I'll make time for us to hang out one way or another. It's a promise.

So it took her a month to get out...?

[ Preparing for the worst now... ] Do you know what forest she was in?

[ GOOD. GOOD GOOD. IGNORE ALL OF THIS. However her face sort of falls at the mention. ]

Huh? Pokemon can die...? [ She sounds relatively devastated by this fact. ]

Sounds kinda complicated... so you're both younger and older than me at the same time. Although, I guess if you've lived ninety years then technically you would be ninety everywhere, right?

Around that amount of time, yes.

The Ilex forest. It's just south of Goldenrod City, and it appears to be the only one here.
