oo5 [Video/Action for Saffron Pokémon Center]

[Hi, Johto. Enjoy the sound of a heart monitor breaking your otherwise quiet night, along with a rather bright blue glow before the camera on this end can adjust. That is what happens when a gear gets turned on from relative darkness and is soon faced into light, so what can you do? Not much besides wait for it to clear and reveal a room in a Pokémon Center somewhere, with a tank of water in the center and a chair nearby.

There's also a tiny Horsea floating in the tank with what can only be an oxygen mask attached to its snout and leads attached to its body. That must be the source of the sound, but the source of the feed isn't so easily traced back right away. It takes a moment, but a sound that can only be a Dragonair humming soon breaks the monitor's steady beeping, and the feed shifts a bit to reveal that it is instead a Dragonair, coiled in the corner of the room and in control of the gear with his tail. The Dragonair looks looks up, shifting the camera back towards the tank as his trainer enters with a nurse right behind him, taking a seat while the nurse does her checking, then looks to the boy who...looks about ready to fall over.]

"Mr. Hitsugaya, are you sure you'd like to stay? There's nothing we can do but wait--"

Thank you, but I'm sure.

[The nurse sighs at his stubborness, but doesn't bring up the issue again as she notes down the changes on the chart in her hand, looking to the clock on the wall then back to Hitsugaya.]

"I suppose there are worse places to be spending your birthday. Call for us if anything changes."

[With that, the nurse leaves him staring at the clock, and after a moment, he sighs and looks back to the tank. Yeeeep. Guess who's spending his birthday in the Pokemon Center and just doesn't seem to care. This guy, that's for sure. He only sits, watching the Horsea for long moment and saying nothing while Shiryuu squeezes the gear and shuts it off. They're in for a long night.]

[Still, he doesn't see it as a big deal. Never has.]

It isn't as if I have anywhere else to be.

[ Sigh. ] Are you coming back to Johto anytime soon?

[headshake.] Not until the nurses say he can leave. I don't know how long that's going to take.

[He being the Horsea in the tank...at least Hitsugaya is dedicated to his team? He hasn't exactly left the room at all.]

[ Yes, it's good that he's dedicated to his team. She notices. +10 brownie points, good boy. ]

How'd that happen? [ Referring to the Horsea's condition. ]

[He does try, really. And better team dedication than people skills...at least in his eyes.]

He hatched too late. The nurses said he was supposed to have hatched no later than early May, but...[sigh] He hatched yesterday.

[ Which isn't always a bad thing, of course. As long as his mind's in a good place. ]

Do they know why?

[It is. Most of the time. Same as his heart...when he remembers to thaw it out.]

He was apparently the weakest in his clutch. They're calling it a miracle he survived this long, let alone that he hatched at all.

[Though he can guess why he survived.]

[ inb4 Misaki gives him a friendship speech

She sighs inaudibly. ] How long have you been here?

[inb4 he linefaces at her for it.

He actually has to pause and think about that, glancing up at the clock while doing so.]

Around thirty hours or so. Since he hatched yesterday.

[ inb4 she gets too frustrated with him :|

She looks downward, a little disappointed, before fixing her gaze on the camera again. It can't be helped. ]

We'll do something after you leave the Center.

[Eh, he's used to frustrated people...mostly.

Confused look is get. Why does she seem disappointed that he's staying? He dun get it.]

That may take another few days or more, Ayuzawa. I wouldn't plan for anything now.

[ TRUTH IS, Misaki's kind of traumatized from the train incident. Getting back to Goldenrod was hard enough to handle, so she really. Really. Doesn't want to take the ride back to Saffron if she doesn't have to. So it's good that he doesn't get it because she doesn't want to look weak in front of him. Again.

...Then again, for stuff like this, she's willing to endure the anxiety, especially since it's for his birthday. ]

I have to make several trips to deliver some things to some other people I know, so if we plan now, I'll be sure to plan out everything properly so there's time.

[Her being traumatized is understandable; the only reason he lagged behind is because he didn't want to get on the damn thing again and, hey, egg troubles are more than enough of a reason to just. stay. put. Weakness? Perhaps, but he's never really cared.

That and if he knew she had a plan like that in mind, he'd stop her dead in the water.]

That would depend on what you intend to do in those plans. You know everything takes varying amounts of time.

[ Too bad Misaki doesn't know, because if she knew that he felt that way, well, even more of a reason for her to suck it up and come and fetch him herself. And good that he doesn't care, because she does a little too much. ]

Well, I have presents I need to hand out, and I think some of my friends are in different cities. I could just ask my Pidgeotto to deliver them for me, but... it would be better if I gave it to them in person. On top of that, Popura's travelling with me, and I have to make sure that she'll be okay with boarding the train again.

But even if it has to wait, I'll make time for us to hang out one way or another. It's a promise.

[He'd never mention it, and he doesn't intend to leave Saffron anyway...not for a while, at any rate. She'll probably have to drag him out if she wants to get him to Johto again.]

Everyone's going to have to get used to using it sooner or later, whether or not they're okay with it. It seems to be the only method of travel between Johto and Kanto so far.

[And a siiiiigh. She just won't give up, will she?]

Fine. Do that if that's what you want to do, but I can't promise anything.

[ She'd only drag him if he had any business to do there. Otherwise, he's free to do whatever he wants! ]

Popura's around your physical age, and she the mentality to match it, too. And with her personality, she'd be easily traumatized by an event like the train incident. I have to be more patient with her.

[ Nope! Sorry Hitsugaya~ ] Oi, don't sound so disappointed!

[Then it's a good thing all his business is in Saffron! He's avoiding that train like the plague...for now, anyway.]

I did say sooner or later, Ayuzawa. I'm not expecting anyone to get over what happened quickly.

[Especially if she's actually around the age everyone mistakes him to be....yeah, he can get it'll take a while. Hopefully less time than actually getting him to like his birthday, though.]

It's just another day. There's no need to go out of your way and make plans for something when you have other things to do.

[ She's been doing the same, but she's really only willing to go to Saffron to visit her friends for the holidays. And, well, for Hitsugaya's birthday, of course, whether he likes it or not!

And ironically, Popura's older than Misaki- just like Hitsugaya, she looks younger than she really is, though only by a few years- so it may not take as long as Misaki thinks. Definitely not as long as getting Hitsugaya to like his birthday, that's for sure... ] But it's not just another day, it's a day that's just as important to me as all of those other plans are!

...And besides, I still have to give you your Christmas gift! So if you don't want me to come over for your birthday, then at least let me come over to give you your present!

[Well, it's not like he'd say no to company if she's already in town, but...eh, birthday things just aren't something he likes. He'll get over it....much slower than Popura gets over the train, though. That's a fact.

Same as the face he just made; right. Christmas is right after...more people to deal with.]

I won't stop you if that's what you want to do. I just think there are better things you could do with your time.

[ Aaand that earns a smirk. Misaki's determined to crack him open! ] Well, that's too bad, then. Because I'm coming over sooner or later, whether you like it or not!

[Sigh and a headshake. Why does he get the feeling he just walked into something he's not going to like?]

It doesn't seem as if I had much choice in the matter to begin with. Liking it was never part of the issue.

[ Because he's being paranoid again! Misaki will make sure that it'll be fun for him. :|b ...Or she'll try to, at least. ]

Lighten up, will you? You make it sound like I'm giving you a death sentence or something.

[It is the thought, or in this case, the attempt, that counts....hopefully. He's got a long way to go.]

Given that I don't actually enjoy celebrations, sounding that way is allowed at this point.

[Yeeeep. Paranoid and with a stick up his butt. Got your work cut out for you, Misaki.]

But it's not a death sentence! It's supposed to be a day where you should have fun!

...But if you really don't wanna do anything. Fine.

[ In other words, she's going to plan something without you realizing it, heehee. She's dealt with all types of boys before, so she's definitely willing to take him on. ]

What things are supposed to be and what they are isn't always the same, Ayuzawa. You should know that, considering we're all here instead of in our own worlds.

[Still, if she's backing down from her plans, he will be a little grateful....and very surprised when she springs something on him later. Very surprised.]
