003 [Video] {Backdated to morning of the 25th}

[Good morning, Johto. Guess who's gotten his egg for the holidays? Yep. There's one of these:

wrapped in a bundle of white and green cloth on his bed at the Inn, Psyduck sitting nearby it. Where's Hitsugaya? Sitting by the window, staring out at the snow. Violet is fairly quiet; just the way he likes it. He speaks after a moment, though.]

From what I've heard, it would seem everyone recieved one of these eggs over the course of the night. I doubt this many eggs could have been misplaced or sent to the wrong people during one night, but there doesn't seem to be much else that could have happened. Does anyone have any ideas? [A quiet "Psy" from Psyduck, and Hitsugaya seems to chuckle a little.]

Although, I'm beginning to doubt my Psyduck is male, the way he's been caring for the egg.

Generally, people seem to think it's the doing of someone celebrating the holiday.

[Holiday? ...oh, right. Some humans did celebrate..Christmas, was it?]

That would explain the cause, but not how they arrived. I kept my door locked overnight.

You'd be surprised how easy it is to get past a locked door.

Perhaps. Surprise doesn't help anything along. It only leaves you unable to move or think. [And it's often followed by betrayal. At least his case, anyway.]

Returning to your original question, I'm not sure. I got an egg as well, and many I've spoken to have received more or less the same.

It would seem all we can do is wait for them to hatch and see what happens then. Getting an explanation won't change the fact that they have already been delivered.

At least they aren't difficult to take care of. This will be my third, I think.

[Third, huh? Hmmmm...] Psyduck seems to have everything under control. He's barely letting me get close. [Proud little "Psy!" from said duck. He can handle an egg, trainer!]

...having trained one myself, I don't think Psyduck is the brightest of creatures. Are you sure it's not likely to fall and break it?

Quite sure. He and the egg are on the corner of the bed, pushed up against the wall. I haven't left him alone with it, either. [This thing can't even swim Like hell he's leaving alone with an egg.]

Probably a wise choice. I hardly trusted mine to walk a straight line.

Considering mine drowns in three inches of surf? [Glance at the duck. Silly creature...] He's fallen over his own feet on solid ground, as well.

My Oshidori was much the same until he evolved. Fortunately, he got much more competent.

[Glance at the duck. He doesn't really believe it, but...] I certainly hope so.

I was a bit surprised by it myself, to be honest.

These creatures have ways to surprise us, even if we learn to expect it from them. [This world, really.]

It's certainly not just the creatures. The people arriving tend to be full of surprises as well.

[Small nod.] Learn to expect the unexpected, I suppose. The people are more of a risk than the creatures or the weather.

Ugh... [Someone seems to have drank a lot yesterday.] Captaiiiin!

[....again? Is there no holiday she doesn't drink herself under the table for?] Again, Matsumoto?

[It doesn't need to be a holiday either 8D.]

Again, whaaaat? [Pouting, how did I even reach my room?!]

Uh... I think it's unlocked... Or at least I don't remember if I locked it...

[Siiiiiiigh. Feed cut off. About five minutes later, yep, that's the door opening. He's coming in, so you'd better be decent, Matsumoto. He'll throw the coffee mug in his hand at you otherwise....no, not the mug. He'll throw the box in his other hand at you.]

[She's dressed and standing up from the floor. Ow, headaches are so bad in the morning...]

Captain!

[Shutting the door behind him. You? Getting a stern look and a mug of steaming coffee.] They don't have tea here. This is the best I could find to replace it.

Thank you! [She tries to fix her hair a bit.] Ne, Captain, do you know how I ended in my room?

[Tiny little shrug, and a subtle look at her. She seems fine...]

I'm assuming someone carried you to your room. I turned in early last night.

[She takes the coffee, and with her other hand she puts it in her head.]

At least everything is in the correct place!

[She's fine. thank goodness.]

Count yourself lucky. Maybe this will keep you from drinking so much at the next party.

B-But Captain...!

But nothing. Drinking so much you don't remember how you got back to your own room is going to get you killed one day.

You don't have to be so pessimist about iiiit.

I'm being realistic. [Aaaaaand pessimistic. It's gonna take a long time to knock that out of him, you know.]

[Was that an eyeroll? Oh, indeed it was. But now he's just extending the box he brought in towards you. Christmas present is had for you, silly woman.]
