oo2 [Video/Action for Goldenrod] {backdated to sunset}

--can't believe this...where's that map...

[Evening, Johto. It's about sunset as the video comes on, though it's pretty much by total accident. The owner of this gear, one obviously rumpled and tired Toushiro Hitsugaya, doesn't even notice the thing is recording as he tries to get the map from his bag. Of course, it's useless in the back alleys of Goldenrod, which is where he appears to, and judging from the expression on the face of his Golduck standing behind him, they're lost.

Yep. His sense of direction in a town this large that he's never been to, is absolute crap and he knows it if the expression on his face says anything about that.]

We'll have to turn back. Come on.

[He turns to leave the alleyway and retrace their steps, Golduck right behind him and the flashes of orange fur at his ankle showing his Growlithe is right at his side. But then the puppy stops suddenly, turning to the entrance of another alleyway that the sun is just shining through, growls, and darts into it before her trainer can grab her.]

Hey---tch.

[He chases after his Growlithe, only to stop when he gets halfway to her and appears to see something from the corner of his eye. He turns his head, but before either he or anyone watching can see what caught his attention, a cream streak darts out from the shadows and his Growlithe starts barking again.

Of course, it's too late to do anything about that, and Hitsugaya loses his footing as the streak, obviously some kind of quadrupedal pokémon, lashes out at his face. The gear goes flying from his hand and skitters across the ground, turning off upon impact with something but not before there's a tremendous crash, the sound of breaking glass, and a surprised cry from the young man in the alley. Seems trouble follows him wherever he goes.]

Considering my Growlithe was barking at it, I wouldn't be surprised if it was both at the same time.

[That makes two of them, so despite it not being easy at all, Toushiro does manage to keep a relatively fast pace to the Center. The nurses will probably lecture him for doing that, but at the moment, he couldn't care less.]

[He's not the type to say 'are you okay'?

Then again there's his facade so...]

You okay?

Fine. I've survived worse.

[And he is fine. Mostly. Just scratched by a Meowth and scraped up from the fall. His poker face is as good as Lelouch's, from the looks of things.]

[He looks a bit tired, but is not saying anything.]

[ oh she knows it's not impossible to be seriously injured! cough Suzaku cough! She'll just giggle though. I mean, her taichou was just bested by a cat ]

Hee! Taichou, cats cause you a lot of trouble! I'm glad to see you're okay! [ she doesn't know the extent of his injuries but she knows he can pull through anyways. She'd be really concerned about the ankle though. ]

{Looking him over - wow, he's a mess. Travel-worn and now attacked by a stray Meowth.}

Well, at least I don't make a habit of getting completely lost on a regular basis.

{And wheeling over closer - mother instincts activate!}

[Nothing some sleep and a cold shower won't fix. ...And maybe some bandages.]

I would hope you don't. You've gotten into enough trouble as it is.

[A master of deflecting topics? Quite possibly. For now, however, he'll just be looking back at that trash heap. Hard to say what was in there, but there are some sharp edges here and here.]

[A nod, then a slightly curious look at Lelouch. That tired look is one he's seen before.]

I'll take it sleeping on the road isn't agreeing with you?

[Is it really that funny? It was just a cat---okay, fine, he can kind of understand how it would be amusing. To her, anyway.]

They cause less trouble than Hollows. Of course I'd be fine.

[Then it's a good thing he's got the gear and can conceal a limp just fine. No matter how much he does appreciate her "company", he doesn't want her to worry or anything like that.]

It was a new experience, to say the least.

[ Good, she didn't want to giggle forever and had to explain it! Too much effort! ]

I know you'd be fine, but I can still be glad you're fine.

[ she's none the wiser to Hitsugaya's condition and he should be thankful for that! ]

Trust me, I'm planning on doing nothing weird until well after New Year's.

{Squinting down at his left foot and ankle.}

Well, you must have. You're bleeding.

You'll adjust to it eventually. Nothing stays new forever.

Hopefully that would be the case.

[He gets them through the entrance doors.]

It will be, if you make it so. No amount of waiting and hoping solves much of anything, even if we want it to.

[A look over at Kiyone while Golduck quacks a greeting, before he nods at Nanao. He's fine. Really.]

I'll hold you to that.

[Or fish her out of trouble, if he can. Right now, however, he's just dusting himself off and limping forward. He kinda wants out of the alley now.]

It's nothing to worry about. I've survived worse.

[Then it's a good thing she got lucky. This time.]

For now, at any rate. Now I just have to get out of here before the sun goes down.

[Oh, he is! He is and he will continue to be for as long as she doesn't. find. out.]

[Toushiro is about to answer that question when a nurse catches sight of them and, due to the fact that it's a quiet evening here, has her call for a wheelchair immediately answered.]

I don't think we're going to get a chance to do that.

[Because if there's one thing he knows about healers, it's that they don't like their patients sitting around without care. Or standing, for that matter, which is precisely why they'll be whisking him out of China's grasp and into that wheelchair to be wheeled off for treatment, not paying any attention to his protests no matter what he says.]

{This is a hand on her heart.}

Lieutenant's promise.

{Looking at that limp... and scowling, she reaches out and pulls him onto her lap WHOOPS SORRY.}

You're only going to make it worse by walking on it. Even you know that. So just stay sitting, and we'll get this done with a minimum of fuss.

{Keeping an arm around his waist to keep him there.}

[This is him taking that for what it is and still attempting to walk past, right up until she pulls him down and he makes a sound that's a rather undignified sputter instead of words or anything coherant. Why?

Because this is just embarrassing and ridiculous and unnecessary and---and his Growlithe is whimpering and trying to get up there with him before he can even say anything. It's enough to get him to cancel any plans of struggling this time, though he's still tense about it even as Golduck plunks the fire-puppy down on his lap and he's forced to hold still. This is why he hates letting others see him hurt; everyone makes a fuss about it.]

Fine. Let's just get this over with.

Well, that's definitely one thing I am familiar with.

[There's a small wistful sigh.]

[The Seviper hisses menacingly at the little Growlithe, but obedinently stays put.]}

Goobaja. _{[That is, until Stitch says that. The Seviper slithers smoothly across the ground, lifting his head high to appear more threatening. His red fangs are gleaming in the sunlight, and you can practically see the venom oozing from them.]}

[It certainly appears that way.

Especially with the Seviper looming over them all and the dim lighting growing ever fainter as time wears on. The street lights don't really reach down here, and getting trapped in a dark, dead end alleyway with this thing between them won't be good.

So it's probably understandable that the Golduck that was behind the boy on the ground just moments before is now moving to stand in front of him, attempting to use all five feet of blue duck to look intimidating as he hisses and quacks. Nothing like a Seviper's hiss, but still something. Hopefully it works.]

[While the wistful sigh gets this one's attention, he doesn't let himself wonder and he just shrugs a little.]

Then you have experience and learning how to deal with this shouldn't cause you much trouble.

[If he's lucky, anyway.]
