oo2 [Video/Action for Goldenrod] {backdated to sunset}

--can't believe this...where's that map...

[Evening, Johto. It's about sunset as the video comes on, though it's pretty much by total accident. The owner of this gear, one obviously rumpled and tired Toushiro Hitsugaya, doesn't even notice the thing is recording as he tries to get the map from his bag. Of course, it's useless in the back alleys of Goldenrod, which is where he appears to, and judging from the expression on the face of his Golduck standing behind him, they're lost.

Yep. His sense of direction in a town this large that he's never been to, is absolute crap and he knows it if the expression on his face says anything about that.]

We'll have to turn back. Come on.

[He turns to leave the alleyway and retrace their steps, Golduck right behind him and the flashes of orange fur at his ankle showing his Growlithe is right at his side. But then the puppy stops suddenly, turning to the entrance of another alleyway that the sun is just shining through, growls, and darts into it before her trainer can grab her.]

Hey---tch.

[He chases after his Growlithe, only to stop when he gets halfway to her and appears to see something from the corner of his eye. He turns his head, but before either he or anyone watching can see what caught his attention, a cream streak darts out from the shadows and his Growlithe starts barking again.

Of course, it's too late to do anything about that, and Hitsugaya loses his footing as the streak, obviously some kind of quadrupedal pokémon, lashes out at his face. The gear goes flying from his hand and skitters across the ground, turning off upon impact with something but not before there's a tremendous crash, the sound of breaking glass, and a surprised cry from the young man in the alley. Seems trouble follows him wherever he goes.]

Where are you?! Do you need any help?

[It takes a bit for him to respond, since he had to get back to his gear, but when he does, he seems alright. ...If you ignore the claw-scratches on his cheek, anyway. He's lived through worse.]

I'm fine. I just need to get back to the main road.

[The Golduck right behind him obviously does not agree with that statement, however. He seems angry. Very angry.]

[Yeah, China's not ignoring that.] ...

[He thinks he knows which alleyway the other is in. He turns the gear off and makes his way through the town, walking quickly. He looks into the dark place and sees him.]

Hey...

[No matter how dark it might be, it's kind of hard to miss the Golduck practically looming over Hitsugaya as he makes his way out the alleyway just in time to see Yao arrive, which makes him stop in surprise even as his Growlithe goes over to greet this new person with some sniffing.

And yes, he does look worse in person. What with all those scrapes and the fact he can't put much weight on his left foot. Yep. He was pretty much lying about being fine.]

[China spares Toushiro any words since he didn't wan to say anything that might embarrass the other. He simply walks over to him and the Golduck, offering his shoulder.]

[At first, it appears that Toushiro is going to protest and say he's fine, but one misstep on his left foot cuts that off quickly, and he accepts China's aid without anything but a sigh.

Hopefully the other man can remember his way back to the main road and the Pokémon center in the ever darkening light, because Toushiro's Growlithe certainly can't, and neither can her trainer.]

[Oh, China knows the city pretty well by now. That happens when you've been in Johto for nearly a year, plus this was not his first time in Goldenrod. He begins to help Toushiro back towards the main road and then heading in the direction of the Center.]

What attacked you?

[At least someone knows the city, and hopefully can get them there relatively quickly. Walking with a busted ankle isn't as easy as Toushiro would have first thought, that's for sure.]

A stray Meowth we caught by surprise. The fall did worse, though.

[What with sprained ankles sucking so badly, even if you get lucky and only get one.]

It must have been very frightened, or angry.

[China tries to walk at a pace where it doesn't put so much strain on the other, but at the same time he would like to get to the Center as fast as possible.]

Considering my Growlithe was barking at it, I wouldn't be surprised if it was both at the same time.

[That makes two of them, so despite it not being easy at all, Toushiro does manage to keep a relatively fast pace to the Center. The nurses will probably lecture him for doing that, but at the moment, he couldn't care less.]

Yep, that would do it, aru.

[He gets them through the entrance doors.]

Would you like to sit down?

[action]

[identity profile] freezetheskies.livejournal.com 2011-09-05 08:56 am (UTC)(link)
[Toushiro is about to answer that question when a nurse catches sight of them and, due to the fact that it's a quiet evening here, has her call for a wheelchair immediately answered.]

I don't think we're going to get a chance to do that.

[Because if there's one thing he knows about healers, it's that they don't like their patients sitting around without care. Or standing, for that matter, which is precisely why they'll be whisking him out of China's grasp and into that wheelchair to be wheeled off for treatment, not paying any attention to his protests no matter what he says.]

[China just lets them take Toushiro. He's not sure whether he should follow or not, considering he was still getting to know the other. Still, he wanted to see the outcome, so he just takes a seat himself on one of the armchairs and waits patiently.

To keep him company, he releases Bi-Han the Chikorita from his Pokeball.

[It's probably for the best he didn't follow, because he would have been the one being asked all the normal questions despite Toushiro being conscious and lucid. As it is, Bi-Han will need to be good company, because it takes nearly half an hour before Toushiro comes out of the back halls, scrapes bandaged as he walks out on crutches with one nurse explaining how to care for the ankle.

She's gone quickly once she's sure that her patient understands, heading back to her other duties while Toushiro just walks back to the lobby to head out before he stops, dead in his tracks and surprised. He wasn't expecting to see China still here, after all.]

You stayed.

[action]

[identity profile] gochuugoku.livejournal.com 2011-09-10 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
[China turns in his seat. Little Bi-Han sitting comfortably in his lap. He smiles a little.]

Of course I did, aru. I wanted to see if you would be okay or not.

[action]

[identity profile] freezetheskies.livejournal.com 2011-09-10 10:02 am (UTC)(link)
[Well that's...that's enough to get him to smile faintly; a guy who's still pretty much a stranger took this much time out of his day when he must have better things to do, to sit and wait for him. That doesn't happen often with people he doesn't know, really.]

The nurses said I'd be back to normal in a few weeks, so long as I don't aggravate the injury. I'm fine.

[action]

[identity profile] gochuugoku.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
That's a relief to hear then, aru.

Do you need any help to where you're staying, or do you plan to stay at the Center tonight?

No, thank you. I can make it to the Hotel from here on my own. The rest can wait until morning.

[And it doesn't involve going back into those alleyways, either. Thank goodness for that.]
