Of course, an ill-timed squeeze is entirely likely to break Golduck's concentration and cancel that attack before it can hit, so there is that issue.

However, Stitch will most likely hear him as he runs across a large puddle left over from Golduck's Water Gunning as he heads for the mouth of the alleyway.
